Jedlik died 125 years ago

Ányos (Anian) Jedlik, the Benedictine priest, physicist, linguist, inventor and rector of the Budapest Universtiy of Science died on this day 125 years ago.

He is known for his inventions like the sparkling water bottler apparatus, the dynamo, the DC engine, and arguably, he constructed the first electric vehicle in the form of a toy engine.

The Dutch smartcharging startup Jedlix was named after him.
